I need the name of this movie!

I am looking for the name of a western in which a cowboy and his dog are looking for a grizzly which was missing some toes (I believe called "old three toes"). The dog travels in a saddle bag on the side of the horse sometimes and later gets killed by the bear and is seen floating down a river. This is not "Night of the Grizzly" starring Clint Walker. Thanks for any help.
